My Story

Carlo is an active member of AAPC, AHIMA, and ACFE, holding several prestigious certifications:
   •    Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
   •    Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
   •    Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC)
   •    Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
   •    Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

His career has spanned both healthcare providers and insurance payers, offering him a well-rounded perspective. Carlo began his journey with Imperial Health, a multi-specialty group in Louisiana, where he specialized in denial prevention, internal audits, behavioral health, and pediatrics. On the payer side, he has collaborated independently with CMS on quarterly audits and compliance projects and worked directly as an employee with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina’s Special Investigations Unit as a fraud, waste, and abuse auditor. Carlo’s mission is to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, ethics, and compliance in patient care by adhering to AMA and CMS guidelines. He is also passionate about educating clinicians on clinical documentation integrity to enhance healthcare outcomes.

In his spare time, Carlo enjoys cooking, art, music, and immersing himself in the vibrant culture of his home city, New Orleans, where he takes in the local art, cuisine, and music. He is also passionate about natural medicine and spiritual mindfulness. Additionally, Carlo volunteers with AAPC and AHIMA, helping new coders and HIM professionals gain hands-on experience and continue their education.
